Next Gen ratings translate the current season-long score board into offense, defense, and net points per game. Future projections and a 10,000-trial standings simulation use only Weeks 3 onward; completed Weeks 1 and 2 are fixed at final scores.
The underlying consensus file was produced after the first two weeks had completed. Its historical grading is a retrospective diagnostic, not proof of what the model would have selected before those games.
